I don't believe they can be cured. Jail doesn't cure, it only makes the need to do it worse.

If he received treatment and it worked than he may be cured. But jail alone is not a cure for the disorder, it is a punishment for a crime.

Most serial pedophiles do not repsond to treatment. The more active their actual criminal activity was is not as important as their fantasy life. If they frequently think/thought about pedophilic acts the chances are less likely that they will respond positively to any treatment. (They may have only done it once, but if they are obsessed the chances of curing them are pretty low.)

i dont know from experience becasue i am not a child molester, but i would think no is the answer.

The people that do these kinds of things are not normal. think about it. a normal person thinks that is very disgusting. pedophiles have something different going on in their brains

I believe that 4 years in jail will not cure that kind of behavior. it may even make it worse. a normal man spends 4 years away and he wants to have sex ASAP. a molester wants to have sex ASAP too, but is attracted to children. i would not let this person around my kids!

I once heard a paedophile on a UK radio program. He observed that paedophile translates as "child lover." In his own mind, he loves children and feels it is important to both him and the child to express it sexually. However he also acknowledged that society considers it wrong and that he must conform to societal views. To my mind, it makes it rather like an alcoholic or drug abuser who embraces the AA/NA approach. There is no cure. Some paedophiles will deal with their issue one day at a time and others will re-offend. A support network is important. So is an appropriate level of trust by the community, but that does have to be earned.

NO HE IS NOT CURED. THEY HAVE HAD 4 YEARS TO PERFECT THEIR TECHNIQUE AND NOT GET CAUGHT. DO NOT EVER LEAVE A CHILD MOLESTER ALONE WITH A CHILD. THE TEMPTATION IS TOO GREAT. THEY ARE ADDICTS.
THEY MIGHT HAVE PAID THEIR DEBT TO SOCIETY. BUT THAT CHILD IS SCARRED FOR LIFE. THEY WILL DO ALMOST ANYTHING TO GET TO THEIR NEXT VICTIM.. DO MORE RESEARCH ON THE NET. FIND OUT THE BEHAVIOR PATTERNS AND HABITS. JUST BECAUSE THEY DONT SHOW IT NOW DOESN'T MEAN THEIR NOT THERE, BE CAREFUL AND STAY AWARE.

The only hope for the pedophile is that he was "pounded" in prison. Then he might like the back action instead of the children. That would be the only hope.

No, most of the time they do it again. which is why parents need to find out if a pedophile lives next to them and not let their children go out alone.

Not by any means. The only real cure is planting them 6 feet under...which we need to do.

jail is not a cure. he needs therapy. if you really want to know you should look him up in the sex offenders database and see if he is still a menace to scoiety. he may still be on parole and that will also tell you if the courts are monitoring his whereabouts.
