It would mean that the newly formed Iraqi government finally got off their a$s and got the insurgent situation under control using their own people.

An end to U.S. [and others'] losses,..but the cons would include an uncertain future for Iraq,..a possible break-up of the country in an all-out civil war,..possibly with several surrounding countries wanting to grab a piece. No one can say with certainty what would happen,..but worst case scenario is that it could be very bad with huge ramifications for the entire region. The past can't be changed [should Gulf War 2 have happened in the 1st place ?], the future can. So unfortunately the 'you broke it..you fix it' adage would seem to be the case here. The U.S. losses, though seemingly plenty, are still quite small compared to Vietnam, WW2 and the U.S.Civil War,..but the consequences of pulling out may be much more serious than some people realize. Here are some the pros.
1.will save American lives now
2. will save our country money now
3. will reduce some of the political infighting in our country
4. might increase the urgency of the Iraqis to step to the plate.
Here are some of the cons.
1. Might facilitate a bloodbath in Iraq where the US will be blamed
2. Will emboldened terrorist everywhere,Bin Laden once stated that all we have to do is bloody our nose and we will run, he might be right.
3. Will reduce any chance in the future of addressing any crisis around the world and forming a coalition because our allies will see that we don't stick to our commitment and will quit when the going gets tough.
4. Will encourage Syria and Iran to try and gain a foothole in Iraq for the control of their oil reserves.
I hope I was able to give you some useful feedback.

I think it would put pressure on the Iraqi Government to finally step up to the plate politically and take charge of their country. Right now there is no fear or need to rush and get it done as long as the Americans and their allies are protecting them. It is time they tackle the insurgence and the militias. Only Iraq can save Iraq. I think it should be an organized pullout not all at once.

It's been said that after the first couple of months of international presence, they feel less like they are being helped, and more like an occupied state. This can create more problems than it solves.
It's a very complicated situation as we are there to bring freedom and rights to the people of Iraq but a recent review of the situation has shown that our presence has actually made things worse. Enemy forces have increased in numbers and strength as we feed their hostility. But with this stronger enemy presence how can we abandon innocent civilians vulnerably facing danger...
It's such a horrible mess.

At this point, pulling out of Iraq would have to be done slowly. We shouldn't have gone in, in the first place, and now we're in it up to our necks. So, removing troops would have to be done gradually. It probably won't happen quickly since it's now a civil war. Also, in the end we will never really be out 100%. We will have permanent military bases for many years to come.

The troops can come home and be with their families. Then instead of sending our troops all over the world in endless wars, we can keep then in the country and use them to help secure our borders.
With the troops back home we will be able to focus on problems that we have in our own country.
