Weather does get cold, but appears mild right now. What you should expect is noise, bustling people, rush hour traffic, just like any other large city.
People in Tel Aviv are modern and share the same taste in shopping, music and entertainment that Americans do.
Israelis are loud and fun loving, and very direct. Take no offense it is just their nature. Expect your belongings to be searched when you go to shopping malls, indoor public spaces etc. It is a way of life of course, and thank G-d for it!
There is so much to do in Tel Aviv and in Jaffa (Haifa).
Don't miss visiting the Sheinkin District which has an ecclectic mix of people, cafes, retro shops etc.
Independance Hall is another must see.
Please try to see Davids Tower. Here is a link for you: http://www.jewishmag.com/29MAG/david/david.htm
It is in Jerusalem, which is only a hop skip away from Tel Aviv, you may take sherut (taxi) or bus. One must of course visit Jerusalem when in Israel. I hope that you do.
Tel Aviv has many dance clubs, for every genre of music lover, so just ask around. Most Israelis speak english so you won't have a problem there.
Expect to see young women carrying their issued arms while in a dress or while shopping or riding the bus.
Overall....expect to have a wonderful time. Just be aware of your surroundings at all times, it has been relatively quiet in Tel Aviv as of late of any incidences. Don't be overly worried or you will spoil your visit. Just be aware, that's all.
The perfect Souvenir??
Why a Sabra of course!! Ha

When are you going? It gets surprisingly cold in winter (although not snowing, you won't be doing a lot of sunbathing). In summer it is very, very hot.

Tel Aviv is really quite a typical Mediterranean city. Very noisy, traffic can be hectic, and drivers like to use their horn a lot! :) It's very safe, despite many people's pre-conceptions, the crime rate is extremely low (although obviously you should take sensible precautions)

There aren't so many interesting places to visit in Tel Aviv (maybe Jaffa would interest you, the old Arab quarter) although it's a great place to hang out. Night life is excellent, and doesn't get going until midnight. But Israel is very small and there are lots of interesting places you could visit on a day trip eg. Jerusulem, Caesarea, Megiddo/Nazareth

As it's in the Holy Land I would suggest something religous would make a good souvenir. :)

You've been given some good answers, so just to add to that, so far we've been having very warm weather (although its supposedly winter)

I recommend going to Jaffa (the market and old city were all the art galleries are and the little museum) you can sit and watch the beautiful coast line from there.

Go to the Tel-Aviv harbor as well and the Hertzeliya harbor and Cesarea area (all of which are just by Tel-Aviv)

Just be careful on the roads, Israelis drive like lunatics!

Enjoy your trip!!!

expect a lot of languages, Chinese, Filipino, English, Hebrew, Russian you name it they got it. it usually quiet but some parts of the city are really busy and you might need to hang on to your purse.
the weather is nice though about 21c.
also you shouldn't be afraid to walk around or anything, don't get startled if you hear Arabic, its fairly common.
about where to go here's a link:http://www.tel-aviv.gov.il/English/Tourism/Sites/Index.htm
