Two suggestions. One get apple pectin which you can buy at most larger vitamin stores. It is a gentle fruit fiber that slows down the digestive process a great deal and improves it. Another is to read Eat right 4 your type by doctor Peter J. D'Adamo published by Pulished by Putnam Adult in 1996. There were other editions on other release dates. It will help you see which foods are better for you to eat.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and i treat a lot of my patients with this problem. Its your diet mainly you need roughage and extra input of friendly bacteria. Go to your health store and get LEPICOL and then to your supermarket and get some actimel. It may take a while for this to get into the system but above all drink at least 2 litres a day of water. Then update your diet
Your stress levels don't help either

have you talked with your doctor about the mood/depression issues? there may be some medication that will help with that. if you're not seeing the results you want, you may want to consider seeing a new doctor.

check with social security about the qualifications for disability. if you have problems figuring out the system, you can always call your congressman or state representative and they can steer you in the right direction.

i don't know if you are a praying person or not, but i just want to pray for relief for you. god bless and hope you are feeling better...

what exactly is your chronic bowel disease? is it IBD or IBS (ibd is the disease and ibs is the less serious syndrom). and what meds are you on? prednisone can make you VERY moody, maybe try another drug or if your not on any, you probably should be. i;ve have crohns disease for 15 years so drugs do work, its just trial and error for a while :)
and hey, if all else fails and noone will listen to you just go to the ER! always works for me :)
