you can download the latest version from windows website.
make sure you have a genuine copy of windows before you validate it in the website or else it will give annoying notifications.I am tellinng from experience.you can get mozill firefox from mozilla website(for free) or opera (which is very fast ).try the links given below.

I have IE6, and I'm keeping it. I've heard nothing but complaints about IE7.
