The skin is just drying out and trying to heal.
You don't really want it to dry out, though.
Your best bet would be to put a thin layer of A&D Ointment on the tattoo, and get a shower.
After you shower, pat the tattoo dry with a towel, and apply unscented lotion to the tattoo.
Keep it moisturized. It will look much better when it's healed. :)
And if it scabs, DO NOT pick the scabs!!!

I have one there too. It is perfectly normal. Just make sure you are washing it with antibacterial soap and putting a very thin layer of Vitamin A & D ointment on it. Do that for at least 7 days. Then you want to use a moisturizing lotion that is free of dyes and perfumes. I found that Lubriderm is the best. I have 11 tattoes and have not had a problem with any. Good Luck!!!

Even I think that this is the natural healing process going on. Soon it will start drying up and getting itchy and making your life hard but dont give in to the temptation or you the healing process will take longer.
So, to make your life easy, better use some vaseline or ointment and also some vitamins to help you get better soon.
You could go to the doctor if you see some unusual developments like unusual swelling and some pus, which are signs of infection.

Yes. It is part of the healing process. It'll itch next. And you'll be tempted to scratch. Try not to. Neosporene creme will do you wonders in speeding the healing. You can buy it any drug store. Don't use scented lotions or the kind or it may become infected, which would suck and may scar it. You can take vitamin E & A, follow directions, and they will aid the skin in healing faster too. But don't take too much, as they are not water soluble.

Yeah it's normal! just keep it clean and make sure you put A&D ointment on it! It Has Vitamin A and Vitamin D in it! Those are the vitamin necessary for the healing of skin! Don't scratch it! Your gonna get scabs also if you don't have them now! Don't pick at them either! make sure you clean it with gental soap no wash cloth or scrub. rub it with your fingers in circles! then rinse don't let the water hit directly on the tattoo let the water roll or pour over it!

What?? Didn't your tatt artist tell you how to take care of it? I hope he or she did. That's very normal, you are just healing, like any other wound, it's going to scab. Keep putting lotion on it, preferably w/o a scent,( that causes burning) but don't over do the lotion. Let it scab up, and heal on it's own...DON"T PICK IT! You'll pull the color out if u do.....should be perfect in a week or so....apply lotion 2to 3 times a day..don't get it soaking wet, stay OUT of sun..

Pretty normal - just be sure to apply some vitamin E oil to the area at least once a day or so. Keeps the color ripe and helps the healing process.

It is normal. Once it begins to scab over it gets really uncomfortable and tight feeling. Your artist should have given you some ointment to keep on it. No tub baths. It will do this for a week or two then it will begin to flake off. You'll notice flakes or scabs then you have a smoothe pretty tattoo. Trying logging on to Skinworxx.com for a picture of my lower back tat. It's a flower. Huge but beautiful.........

its going to get itchy from the scabbing.
don't scratch!
I think my sister had this same problem.
But she started getting Zit-like bumps.
she went to the doctor and turns out the scabbing
of the tattoo had gotten into her skin and infected that too.
So, i'd be careful and let the doctor or the tattoo artist take a look
at anything you think might be abnormal.
