A) Check if your credit card issuer has a feature with car rental insurance. Some do.
B) Your insurance may cover it. Talk to your insurance agent.

The question is if you want to have to deal with the rental company if they claim accident or damage.
Always choose a well known car rental company. Some have been known to claim you liable for damage that either was there previously or occurred later.

RE Is It A Good Idea To Get Rental Car Insurance?

First check with your normal auto insurance policy. Many will cover you in a rental car as part of your normal coverage that you've already purchanced. But also make sure you know what is required. You may have to call your agent and let them know ahead of time that you are doing this and what type of car you are renting.

If it doesn't (or if you just not sure at the time) then yes it is a good idea to purchase the insurance. It's relitively inexpensive and if something does happen you don't have to worry about how your going to pay for the damages.

And even small, low speed fender benders can cost $800.00 and up to fix with many cars. So it is a small price to pay.

Best of luck

No. It's very over priced. Your automobile insurance usually covers you when driving a rental car. What they were trying to sell you was a " Collision Damage Waiver" policy and since almost every rental car agency requires you to pay with a credit card your credit card probably includes that type of insurance as an incentive to select their card.

well it depends if you have full coverage and you plain on driving it like its yours then it just cost to much for most pockets. But on the other hand if you don't have full coverage then i would get it just to save you. any thing that happen while you have the car will be filed on your insurance if you don't get it.
