The new born human - it's just not as obvious. Whis is harder to ignore a 10 month old Shepard that wants attention or an infant that does? Most people would say the infant. Which one is harder to distract from their goals? The infant.

You may not be able to measure it concretely yet but the human infant has a vastly larger intelligence potential.

I think that the dog certainly 'appears' to be more intelligent because of its independence and capabilities, but think about it, new borns have it made, they have adults trained to slave for their every need on account of a small whimper. Newborns don't even have to communicate what their desire is because adults will jump through hoops to figure it out, the whole time the newborn is just kicked back and waiting to be served. The dog has a master but the newborn is definetely the master.

The dog, of course,

The dog is close to being an adult at 10 months; the infant is still (trying to be kind, here) developing.

The dog by a mile. Newborn babies can't do anything for themsleves. I'll bet when Inspector Rex was 10 months old he was alreday catching criminals.

Whichever one can choose the right pairing for lobster, grilled vegetables or Thanksgiving dinner since you placed your question in the "Beer, Wine and Spirits" section.
