Sometimes it may be payback but more than often I feel like I've got a target on my forehead or a piece of paper on my back that says "Hit me". People I've never met before on the street take a dislike in me, complete strangers decide they won't like me, I try my earnestest to do well in my job and receive no reward for my efforts.
Strangely, I consider myself optimistic, nonwithstanding.
I do tend to think that there is payback however, because I know people who have gone out of their way to harm me, have bad things happen to them. So, what can I say, just keep hoping?

There is evidence of people being 'unlucky'. It is based on the fact that if you have a pessimistic outlook on life then you will not see opportunities and therefore grasp them. Also, this outlook on life will complicate relationships with other people and so reduce your networking ability.
By the same token, a person who is optimistic is often more 'lucky'. When misfortune does strike this person then they will take it as it comes and learn from it without being brought down. They will see more opportunities and take them. Their network of friends will produce more opportunities.
Does the world happen to you, or do you happen to the world? that will make a difference to getting the short straw.

yes always but no i dont think its payback because i was eight years old the first time so payback for what?and i do feel it does make you apreiciate the small things in life and not to go chasing rainbows so you tend to be more settled with your lot than people searching for bigger and better every day, that must be so tiring and soul destroying

No, but some times it seems that way. When things continually go wrong, one after the other. I some times, think there's a curse on my life. But I think God, can turn our curses, into his blessings.
