After taking a split, do you hit on both hands separately or at the same time?

When you "split" two cards in blackjack they essentially become two different hands. The cards are split up and a bet is laid down for both cards. The dealer will give you one card on the first split card and ask if you want to hit. Then the process is repeated with the second card. Remember don't split face cards!

You play each hand in turn as if you had originally paid to play two hands.

Each casino will have slightly different rules about when you can split, and how many cards you can take after the split. Always check the house rules. Also remember that most places will not give you credit for a black jack. So if you split aces and then get a 10 on each, you will be paid like you had 21, not paid like you had black jack.

Separately. When you split your hand play works just like you were playing in 2 positions. you will build your first hand (like normal) then you will build your second hand.

The only difference in splitting you hand is when you have 2 Aces. In most cases you only get one more card per hand.

Good luck and win big.
