It started with the flu, then my asthma started up and now CHRONIC BRONICITS!! I have been coughing nonstop and feel like I'm sufficating. I'm coughing so hard I'm vomiting up all my medication and what little fluids I've had, not to mention my bladder empties because my cough is so severe. I'm waiting on a call from the doctors office which could take hours. Please, I'm crying while I'm writing this because I feel so bad and been sick for so long and I'm tired of coughing and throwing up, does anyone have ANY suggestions of something that will calm my cough. I'm litterally sweating from coughing so hard and so much. I know it's gross but it's all that green mucus in my chest trying to come up. The med.s are supposed to repress a sensor in the brain to control the urge to cough but like I said, it's not working. Please help me, I'm PAST miserable... Oh I forgot to mention that I haven't slept in about that long too, a few min.s here and there, I can't stand this anymore.

it sounds like you may need to be prescribed a cough syrup containing either codeine or hydrocodone, to work as an anti-tussive. This will suppress your cough reflex and help a bit with the pain.
What cough medication were you prescribed, and what was the dose?
Where you prescribed any other medications, and if so what were there doses?
It is possible he only prescribed you dextromethorphan for the cough, and in this case that does not seem strong enough to do the job. Please answer these questions and I will re-edit my answer with an updated response. You may need to call your physician and explain to him how terrible you are feeling, and get him to prescribe you a stronger cough suppressant(codeine or hydrocodone).

hi friend, i know the pain,coz i had bronchitis, its common in winter, please keep urself warm,have inhaler?it can help u a lot.Dont have oily food n dairy products, it may increase ur pain.Steaming, helps u breath easy, but its temporary, go to the doc soon, see to it that u dont get fever,it becomes severe,take care

I feel your pain. I too suffered with brincitis. There is littler that you can do to relieve the pain. steam worked very well for me.
