Ambien was perscribed to me, well, the generic form of it, whatever the name is... I don't remember... & It doesn't do anything for me, nothing, I can take 2 or 3 of them, and it doesn't effect me what-so-ever, I feel nothing from it.

I've had a history of drinking alot, and almost died from it over the summer with "Severe Acute Necrotizing Pancreatitis." Major surgery and a medical miracle helped me pull through, i'm not allowed to even have one sip of alcohol for the rest of my life, and I used to drink 2 fifths a night.

Anyway, I contacted my doctor, and let her know, she said she couldn't perscribe me anything stronger, but, she can refer me to another Dr. that can get me something stronger...

Just wondering if anyone has any clue on what I might be in store for... Is there anything stronger than Ambien, for sleep?

They also tried inducing me in a coma when I was in the hospital, and had a rough time... Any info is helpful!

Yes, I know that with my history that sleeping medications can be bad. But I have to eat healthy because of my surgery, and alot of people who quit drinking excessively abruptly have major problems with sleeping. Which sucks, but it's just the way it is, natural methods don't usually work and they need pills because the alcohol is what sedated them for so long... I appreciate your answer though.

Yes, I have been taking Trazedone for about 5 years now..not every night but only when I feel that I will have a hard time sleeping due to stress etc. If I get to bed with only less than 5 hrs. to sleep, I only take 1/2 a tab...otherwise a full one is fine for me...I do not have trouble waking up and feel good in the morning... My full dosage is 100mg and is by prescription. Happy sleeping!

I seen angels floating around the room. Kind of a neat feeling but scary the first time..That was with in5 minutes of taking it and ONLY 1. After that I slept great ALL night and for at least 9 hrs. Becarefull of what you take. Good luck.

Sleep medications are not good for anyone, but especially for someone like you with your history. I suggest you wise up and solve problems without pills or anything else.

If you can't sleep, I suggest you figure out why. Stress, improper diet, what? Seek out counseling too, a normal person does not drink that much for no reason. Did you ever get psychological counseling after that hospital visit?

To get to sleep try; warm milk, camomile tea(decaf), don't eat sugar, drink coffee or anything caffeinated. If you don't exercise, do some, like walking daily. Eat healthy and don't over eat.

WOW.

When I read The Code of Federal Regulations, it puts me to sleep.

Usually, if I have trouble sleeping, I take a Tylenol PM with a glass of wine. That's not an option for you, so just do the pill.
