What should I do for my sixteenth birthday? Throw a party, just do what I usually do with my familyor invite just a few friends over play video games and binge on junk food? I've never had a birthday party with friends, ever, i've never even thrown a party. I'm very shy, and could be catergorized as a loner, I talk to a select group of people. I have other questions on friends and parties.

I don't turn sixteen until next june, but need to plan ahead to what I can expect.

a few friends is better then none for a birthday party. And being comfortable around them will help you with your party plans. Don't feel like you should be everywhere at once in you party, talk to your friends like you usually do, you should be more relaxed where you have your party then you do anywhere else. Weather it's the library, your house, or some other place you like to go. (I love the library) try to incorporate different things you like to do into the party (foot ball or other sports outside.) movies, 2 or more player video games (you may want to rent.) what ever you do make shore it sounds fun to you in theory before you make clear plans to make it happen. If you're shy and consider yourself a loner, don't try and go over the top. You should definitely do something though. Plan a fun night with your friends. Don't try to go crazy and invite the whole school, then you would just be uncomfortable at your own party.
If you enjoy video games and junk food, go for it. Do what you think will make you have the most fun, it's your birthday!

drop a hint to one of your select group of people that you've never had a birthday party before, And if he/she is a good friend they will plan a surprise party for you.

It depends if you want to do what you normally do or have a real party. Just choose what you want more.
