My daughter has asthma that presents with a cough, so I'd say albuterol (or whatever rescue med you use). If that doesn't help, see your pulmonologist for some oral steroids. It's been my experience with my daughter that OTC cough suppressors don't work at all, and codeine works somewhat. The key is to make sure that your asthma isn't flaring and that the cough isn't due to inflammation and constriction in your airways. Just because you're not wheezing doesn't mean you're not having an asthma flare

Benzonatate... otherwise known as Tessalon. They are good if the cough is not due to an infection. They work like benzocaine to numb the area and calm the cough.

I call them little piss filled pustules because thats what they look like.

There are no known interactions if that is what you mean by "With asthma." ???

What does asthma have to do with it? Do you feel that is the reason for your cough?

If so... you need an inhailer not a cough suppressant. But you need a prescription for both either way.
