I like Blue Bell.
It depends on what I'm in the mood for as far as toppings go.
Hot fudge or strawberry sauce sometimes.
I usually use the vanilla ice cream as the topping. On top of hot apple pie, hot peach or apple cobbler, warm fudge brownies, birthday cake, or (the absolute best) Betty Crocker microwave Warm Delights Molten Lava Chocolate Cake.
Now that you brought it up...I'm going to go pop one of those cute little 45 second fresh baked cakes in the microwave, squeeze a bunch of the hot fudge sauce all over it and top it with a big old scoop of vanilla ice cream and some more of the hot fudge sauce.
I've got to have it!

OK I know it's not a brand but my favorite vanilla ice cream was the kind my great grand mother made when I was a kid.
nothing bets homemade ice cream.

My favorite brand of Vanilla is Haagen Dazs's Vanilla Bean. It's not whipped airy and has the vanilla bean flecks in it.
Vanilla ice cream needs hot fudge sauce, homemade is the BEST (ruin a batch of fudge and then pour it over if you don't have a recipe).
My favorite Vanilla ice cream, however, is the Vanilla Bean Custard ice cream I make. :-)

Blue Bell has got to be the best vanilla icecream by far, they have a homemade vanilla and a vanilla bean. I like to eat it plain. My husband likes butterscotch syrup on it. My kids like to crush up oreos or nutter butters in it. YOu could also do homemade blizzards, by taking some vanilla icecream and your favorite candy pieces, like butter finger, reeses pieces or peanut butter cups, almond joys, oreos, heath bar ect. and blend in a blender for a minute. Vanilla icecream goes great with so many things. Enjoy!

definitely breyers. their ice cream always taste the most homemade. however, i am not a big vanilla fan so i always had some hershey's syrup. yumm!
