I am trying to purchase an electric Mongolian hot pot in Canada. It is also known as a Chinese fondue or steamboat. I bought one years ago at the local Chinatown but they cannot order anymore. The one I want is electric and stainless steel with the funnel in the middle. I need it for a Christmas gift. I want to buy it in Canada to avoid custom duties.

Go to: www.Shopping.com. There is a variety of them to chose from and you can have it shipped to your home. I wouldn't think you would have to pay an custom tax, just shipping costs. Good luck!

Tap Fong a restaurant/hardware store on Spadina Av, between Dundas and College just up from Baldwin, on the same side of the street as the Bank of Nova Scotai, just 2 blocks North, just got myself one and 2 Vietnamese drip coffee filters, they have everything and very reasonable, then go south to the market downstairs and get the fixings. Soup Baseds and the meats are the along with the other ingredients.
