I just came in from walking the dog. My fleece gloves didn't keep my fingers warm. Does that mean I'll require the same gloves a skier would wear? Where can I get the best price on the right gloves?

Thanks, both of you, for your answers. I went to REI for assistance on this, first online, then by phone, and then trying on different pairs of gloves at the store. I now own new gloves.

My dog, a black standard poodle, loves this cold weather. (She was living at 9,000 ft. elevation when I adopted her.) And, she wore her new purple winter storm coat when we last walked.

I hope you're bundling up your dog also

You could put heat packs in your gloves as well..

I have a pair of down filled mitts I bought a 1000 years ago. They are ski mitts and my hands have never been cold in them. Thankfully I don't need them often but when I do, I am thankful that I had the foresight to buy them many years ago.
