Yes...you have to learn to control your triggers (stress?) and have a prescription on hand so you can get it filled AS SOON AS YOU EVEN THINK your having an outbreak.

I was diagnosed with it 11 yrs ago (a "present" from my lying, cheating ex husband) and I have only had 2 outbreaks in that time.

There is something called L Lysine (check spelling) found at natural food stores or in the vitamin section that helped me out.

Also, DO NOT have sex during an outbreak, even with a condom, because you will pass the outbreak back and forth.

Last, take vitamins and minerals to help your immune system stay strong, because as you know..herpes takes a tole on you, even with out an outbreak.

You can live with it...normal and semi healthy...I do.

Keep in touch with your doctor and get a stand by prescription.

Good luck.

Yes, in fact about 10 to 20 per cent of the population is living a normal life with genital herpes (although a lot of them don't know they have it).

If you are getting lots of outbreaks you should see your doctor about taking medication to either stop the outbreaks occurring or to take as soon as an outbreak starts to happen and stop it in its tracks.

Even those who are unlucky enough to get frequent outbreaks usually find they get less and less often as time goes on.
