count as you inhale, then exhale thru pursed lips. Your exhale should be 2x longer than inhale.

The back pressure from exhaling expands your broncial tubes
so you can inhale more oxygen

Take any simple 'Asana', 'inhale' till the lungs are full, try to hold for a minute,'exhale' till the lungs are empty. Do it for few minutes per day, use different posture. If you do it for extended period take different position for more comfort.
