Do you have a diagnosis for RSV? Is it possible that the treatments are not working for him? I would call his regular doctor and tell him and also the pulmonologist and give him a heads up. It is a medical emergency if your baby uses his stomach muscles to breathe and I would take him to ER stat if that happens.
You do have a SIDS monitor too I take it?
Take care-

if you have a nebulizer than you must have had prior breathing problems, if after the treatment he is still wheezing, you should definitely take him to the ER. With or without noticeable retractions, he is having difficulty. It may not be asthma but it could be RSV my youngest had that. Get him to the ER, even if it's nothing at least you can feel better.

Take him to the ER! Asthma is very dangerous especially in infants. I have a lot of people in my family who have suffered with it since birth. It can be very tricky, and turn quickly for the worst.
I'm not trying to scare you, but it is better to be safe than sorry! You have nothing to lose, if you get there and he needs medical attention, then you have saved him from the worst, and if you get there and he's fine, then you are just a beautifully concerned mom who loves her kid! Either way, you win!

i think you should bring him to the ER. he is only 5 mnths old and it's very dangerous for a baby to experience wheezing. sometimes, it's rather normal. but i suggest that you bring him to the ER as fast as possible just to keep him safe.

Your son is awfully young...I would call the doctor or go to the emergency room. Babies tend to get a lot sicker than older people and it can be a lot more serious. Be safe and have the baby checked out by a doctor!

best remondy for congestion on in infant reun a shower on the hottest it can be close the door. go in the bathroom with him and ssit on the toilet seet or as close to the shower as possible not inside. the heat will open up the congestion do that 2-3 times max it should work the 1st or 2nd time. remember as hot as it can get the steam will steam the whole bathroom and you just sit with him or put him in a bouncy or car seat closest to shower hope it works ut always works for me

I think he might have early signs of asthma, don't panic it might not be anything serious but definitely have him checked out.
