Might be a question on a Human Phys test that covers skeletal, cardiovascular phys, blood flow, and mechanics of breathing. I'm having trouble coming up with a detailed answer.

In response to canuck's question it could be either a cardiac arrest or hemorrhaging. But if you described both that would really help me.

give epinephrine for hemorrhage, morphine for pain, but take note the clients respirations before administering morphine, fluid replacements of course, if there is a chest wound chances are he'll be on chest tube. ummmm im sure ders a lot but dats all i could think of right now.

In all aspect...If they are bleeding enough a person would receive blood, then there is the need to decompress the Lung by insering a chest tube for the pnuemothorax. Then on top of else going on isthe ATLS proceedures and drugs to help maintain the person long enough to get to the OR.

I could name dozens depending on the circumstances (cardiac arrest, hemorrhaging, pneumo/hemothorax, pain, hypotension, tachycardia, anxiety, infection, greater than 10 years tetanus shot ...). You see my problem here? Give me some specifics and I'll give ya an answer!!

Well if they got shot in the chest, my first drug of choice would be intravenous fluids. Then if he wasn't breathing well, give him paralytics so he can be intubated. Then morphine for pain..

That would be the decision of the ER doctor who is treating the person, assuming they went to the ER.
