Life long problem for me. Nexium twice a day for the rest of my life. Hope it isn't the same for you.

Chronic Gastritis can not be cured. BUT!!!!! You can change your diet. Stay away from greasy, fried, spicy foods. Trust me you will go in remission before you know it.
Stay away from roughage too! Salad's and such. It is harsh on your digestive system if you have Chronic Gastritis or IBS. Stress is another part of it. Try to lower your stress level some. That will help as well.
I hope you feel better soon.

Thank goodness you have a diagnosis. That's somewhat of a mental relief, I'm sure. Why your doctor did not give you recommendations as to physical relief or treatment, I can't imagine. If you were 78, I'd say just have it removed, but you're much to young to have to be going through this much pain and suffering. In my opinion, be forceful and take it to the next level. At this point in your life, a diagnosis is not sufficient. You need to know what your options are.

I was diagnosed with gastritis but it's not a respiratory problem so much as it is a stomach issue. I was given Nexium and took it for about 5 months. I was then weened off of Nexium and now am just careful about what I eat and drink. For some reason tuna about kills me. I also have to be careful with caffeine and spicy foods. Good luck.
