Congradulations on the new baby! And please don't allow this message board to take place of a Dr.'s visit. It is vital that you determine if you have diabetis or not. 143 is a totally acceptable blood sugar level. While your symptoms might indicate diabetis it could be that you simply have a bladder infection or your hormones are readjusting after birth. If your blood sugar was over 200 after you ate then you should be a little more concerned. Check your blood sugar before you eat anything in the morning. If it is 60 or below you may have hypoglycemia (low blood sugars) If it's 150 or above then call your Dr. Did you have diabetis while you were pregnant? Does your Dr. have you testing? It's possible that if your were diabetic while you were pregnant you could continue to be diabetic after birth. Anyway, good luck and take care of you and that new baby.

you should check your blood sugar atleast three if not four hours after eating. but what you just said call the doctor tomorrow and get seen. ask for him to do a fasting blood sugar test. this is were you don't eat after midnight and then go to the clinic around eight or nine in the morning and they do a simple blood draw. that test will be the most accurate. a test of 143 after two hours is pretty normal. but without eating you should be between 90-120.

Blood sugar levels were changed by the AMA a few years ago. Above 100 is considered pre-diabetic. See a doctor for an AC1 test which measures your levels during the last 3 months.

If you are Diabetic, don't panic. The more you educate your self about this disease the better you will be able to manage it. A blood glucose level of 143 after a meal is not bad.
But if you continue to have Diabetic reactions , please see a Doctor as soon as possible. In fact, you should have a Family Doctor who knows about your condition.
Diabetes is something you should always be up to date about.
Good luck.

take your blood sugar first thing in the morning before you eat to get an accurate reading. you have a lot of the symptoms of diabetes. stay on top of it for sure. 143 is not something a doctor would worry about, but, would follow up on to rule out diabetes. my husband is diabetic and controls his blood sugar level with cinnamon capsules. really! cinnamon. check it out. good luck.

Start keeping a record of your blood dugar readings immediately before you eat, as well as 2 hours afterward. You might spot a pattern.
143 is not too bad, but watch what you eat (carbs, etc.)

70-120 is a normal range. Make an appointment to see your doctor. 143, while not terrible, is high. Take care.

I am not really for certain but I think that is kind of high. In any case you should go to the doctor and find out what exactly is causing you to feel this way.
