They are not necessarily more likely to get STDs. Condoms are more likely to break during anal sex, which could lead to STDs. And offend him if you have to, but get him tested. Everyone should get tested. Offer to go with him and get tested too.

Men have more sex. Since the beginning of time men have had more sex and will continue to do so unless we morph into hermaphrodites.
Women have more sex now than they used to (of course, I'm not talking about hookers) but still not as much as men.
Why not tell him that you are going to be tested for STD's? Not that you think anything is wrong, just that you want to make sure in these interesting times. Then you can ask him if he's been tested and that will open the dialogue without offense.

The general consensus is that it's due to anal sex.
The tissues of the anus and rectum are pretty sensitive and susceptible to tearing and infiltration (passage of STD-causing bacteria and viruses into the blood). Therefore, exposing that region of the body to [diseased] semen, along with the pressure generated by the penis during intercourse, gives a higher likelihood of STD transmission.
As far as dealing with your bi b/f, I think the best way to convince him to get tested would be to agree to do it mutually... as in both of you get tested simultaneously. As in, "hey let's both get tested, just in case". I'm not sure how well that'd work, but it might be worth a try. Interestingly, that did work out pretty well for a gay male couple I know, although they both knew very well that they were both at increased risk for STD. Your mileage will vary, obviously...
Hope this helps..
That said, you are taking advice from a 23 year old virgin... =P

Because they may not use condoms as regularly as heterosexual couples. Many gay and bi guys do, but sometimes they don't because there is no risk of getting anyone pregnant. However, the anus and rectum are very thin walled and fragile. During vigorous activity they can be torn and any STD can be transmitted into these tears. That's how things spread most of the time, of course there's an exception to every rule. When it comes to asking him to get tested, just ask him. It's not offensive to say, "Honey, I like you an all, but I think we need to show how much we care by protecting eachother and getting tested." There is nothing offensive about protecting yourself.

Because men tend to not take responsibility for their health when they have sex (they don't like to wear condoms).
Because men don't like going to the doctor (so they ignore symptoms).
Because men live with their heads in sand (in my opinion).
Whether or not your boyfriend gets offended is his problem. You absolutely need to assert responsibility for your own health here. Of course, if he's actively bisexual, what are you going to do, have him get tested every day? You have a problem. No matter what he says he does with others, you should always insist that he wear a condom with you (unfortunately, condoms do not protect you from all STDs, such as herpes), and you will have to resign yourself to the reality of getting tested for every imiaginable STD yourself on a very, very regular basis.

To be honest with you....before you screw anyone, man or woman, you both should get checked. You should never use mental judgement as that can lead to STD's a lot quicker. However, whether its a man or woman you are going to be with needs to have a faithful commitment with you. Sleeping with multiple partners is the reason there are so many STD's out there in this world now.

Because if you are a guy and u have a bi or gay partner then the only way u can experiance the feeling of doing it is in the rear.
It is reallr durty and is your not wearing a condom it is very easy to get an STD if one of you is a sleep arounder

In my opinion (which could be wrong) men are more likely to use condoms with woman because the first thing that comes to their mind is preventing an unwanted pregnancy. If a man is having sex with another man, their first thought is not preventing pregnancy (I will avoid graphic details :-), it is simply pleasure. I think perhaps unprotected sex occurs more frequently with the same-sex couples than it does with opposite sex couples because of the non-existent chance of pregnancy.

well they say that gay\bi men are at higher risk for stds than a str8 man well i just looked at this sight and it said be cause gay and bi men tend to have alot of moniguous partners. and about him getting tested my chic said tell him its time for your yearly check up and you was going to go ahead and have the dr test for stds while your there. and then ask him if he has ever been tested see what he says and then if he says yeah its been a while then just ask him if he would get tested also that way you both know your safe, and she said this way you dont have to be like because your bi i want you to get tested it will just look like your gettin tested so youd like for him to get tested man she talks alot lol oh and she told me to ask you if you are completley comfortable with having a relationship with a bi guy could you trust him to be alone with his guy friends? she said its bad enough having to worry about men cheating on you with a chic but if he goes both way the option is there. and she said what she lol just said when she was 19 she went out with a bi guy and he cheated on her. and if he was to cheat on you with a guy he probly would never tell you so shes not really sure that you are going to be safe sex wise with this guy. just something to think about she says

Well, I don't know that it is more likely because he is bisexual, it is more likely if he had unprotected sex.
Without knowing the details, it's impossible to say he is at greater risk.
But I wouldn't have unprotected sex until I knew for sure.
Be honest with him, having relations with another man is the most common way to get AIDS, don't YOU want to know...
