In my personal case, ECG/Stress test(ETT)/Echocardiography was normal, yet I had angina pictoris. So finally in Angiography I got the news that I have triple vessel disease, and have to go for CABG (Bypass Surgery). After the surgery I got the relief.
In yours Dad case, please ask the cardiologist for his final opinion.

there are SPECIFIC indication to perform cardiac Cathe & your dad condition doesnt fall in that category.
you may ask why they dont do the cath anyway just to make sure,
the answer is : cardiac cath has a mortality rate of 0.1 to 1/1000 so if they are to do Cath on every case, we will end with alot of people die at the cardiac cath table.
so:
if EKG & stress tests are negative, then your father doesnt have a CORRECTABLE heart vessels disease,
however he may HAD an old heart attack that we can do NOTHING about it now this will be shown on the nuclear test which is completely SAFE.
My personal impression is that your father is OK & I hope the "nuwkiller" test will be normal too.

Myself, I would want to know, so I'd take the risk of a heart cath.
I'd find a doc that did the cath through the wrist rather than the groin. Also if I wasn't already on a statin I would get my cardiologist to put me on one. I'd want my ldl roughly 70 or lower. And if I didn't get an answer from my doc that I felt comfortable with I'd get a second opinion.
God Bless

Some tests are better than others at finding the right diagnosis.
I'm not sure what your question is.
