A hamburger can be kosher but a cheeburger can't, is that true?

Any meat or just beef products (steak, ham etc.) shouldn't touch with dairy products (milk, cheese etc)

No mixing of meat and dairy, even in the vessels of preparation!

I know a Kosher man who swears by the veggie burgers and portabellos, though; and I'm pretty sure you can throw a slice of American on either of those!

That's correct, no mixing of dairy and meat allowed to be kosher

In Kosher rules, you cannot put dairy (cheese) together in the same meal as meat (burger)
