Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the herpes simplex viruses type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2). Most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2. Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. Typically, another outbreak can appear weeks or months after the first, but it almost always is less severe and shorter than the first outbreak. Although the infection can stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tends to decrease over a period of years.

Genital herpes:
A common infection caused by the herpes simplex virus type 2 or type 1.
Type 1 is commonly acquired through oral sex, while type 2 is transmitted through sexual intercourse.
Symptoms include small blisters in the genital area which rapidly break down to leave painful ulcers.
Other symptoms include pain or difficulty in passing urine. Some patients may develop headache and fever.
Herpes infection during late pregnancy is potentially dangerous to the baby during labour.
Herpes is a life-long chronic condition which cannot be cured.
However, there are antiviral drugs available which can reduce the severity of symptoms.
Please see the web pages for more details and images on Genital Herpes.

I got diagnosed with herpes virus (type 2) about three yrs ago, whilst I was still in college and had a foolish one-night stand. I understand lots of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date guys again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/cGRZ1 everything got better.
Not only was I able to remove all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just last week, in front of everybody in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!!! This program provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

if it truly is Herpes, it is a virus. It is like a cold sore on the mouth, sort of a watery sore that takes days to heal only it's in the private area. With Herpes you have outbreaks over and over. there are meds to help reduce the number of outbreaks but no cure. Antibiotics are not used for herpes. Antibiotics are for bacterial infection. Herpes is spread by sexual contact.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

herpes is aviral condition so antibiotics will be useless. she needs antiviral treatment like valacyclovir. it can be very severe and painful, making you feverish. its a virus that lives on the nerve ends, and when triggered it travels to the surface causing blistering. 2 types herpes simplex type 1 and 2. same virus causes cold sores on the mouth. should take 10-21 days to heal

As above - clearly explained.
Is something she'll need to tell her gaenocologist if she's ever going to have a kid as it can potentially cause complications at birth.
Otherwise, something she'll just continue to get from time to time.
A google search should provide you with more info.
