No no no!!! All of the previous are just Americanized versions of what people think burritos are. If you come to Mexico and you buy one, it will never, and I mean NEVER have rice inside. A true burrito will only have flour tortillas, refried beans and your choice of what we call "guisado" (sort of like a stew): for example, meat and potatoes in a red chili sauce, or tongue, or even steak flank "a la mexicana" (meaning it has onions, tomatoes and jalapeños). Or egg if it's a breakfast burrito. Now, if you don't want the real deal, just go to Taco Bell.

I use large white flour tortillas, then make a mix of beans, shredded cheese and either ground beef with taco-style spice, chopped beef steak or chicken. Then roll them up (pin with toothpick if necessary.)

Place in a greased pan in a medium-low oven about 15 minutes, take out and cover with chopped lettuce and chunky salsa (USA) or casera salsa (México).

(And Rebecca, below, is NOT right! Except about the rice - I'm from Mexico City - make them the way YOU like, THAT is the True Mexican Way!)

depends on what kind you want to make. but if you want to just make a regular bean and cheese burrito one, what i do is to cook some beans, then place them in a tortilla with some shredded cheese. the cheese will melt right away because of the hot beans.
well, hope that helps!

tortilla, beans, rice, cheese, maybe some lettuce, salsa, tomatoe....depends on what kind of burrito....that would be a veggie burrito although some places put grilled veggies in too...also some do sour cream and guac.

Meat if you eat meat

Anything. Chicken, beef, pork, cheese, refried beans, spanish rice, lettuce, tomatoes, cilatro, whatever you want to put in it. Usually a meat, cheese, rice and beans. Eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns that's a breakfast burrito.
