Yes, That's call super infection If your positive, have unprotected sex with someone who is also positive yo can get that persons strain of the virus on top of yours. Now you have 2 different strains (a super-infection) any so can you partner.NOW most likely the medication you and your partner were taking will no longer work and you have to find a new combo,go through all the adjustments, the side effects and who knows how many combos of meds your partner tried and did not work.More than likely they wont work for you.So 2 infected people still need to practice SAFE SEX

I suppose that having unprotected sex with someone who also has hiv will increase your risk of accelerating the onset of AIDs because you are being infected with different strains. I would talk to a specialist about this though, as your mood can have a positive effect on people who are sick, and well, sex can put you in a good mood.

Yes, you can be infected with a different strain of the virus. You can also develop whatever resistance to drugs that the other infected person has thus making it difficult to give you the most effective drug therapy for you disease.

Many people who are infected feel that they don't have to use condoms when having intercourse with another infected person but this is not true.

Take care of yourself. Keep up with your counts and read, read, read all you can about HIV.

Yes, it is possible to get infected with another strain of HIV. It's like when you have a cold, you can have 1 strain and then catch a cold again from another strain. If someone has HIV and are on medication and they get another strain, then they will have to take another type of medication for that strain alone.

I do not know, but I guess it is possible. There is really only one strain her in the US HIV-1. HIV-2 is mainly in africa, but even there it is kinda of rare. I beleive there have been a few cases of HIV-2 here in the states.
