about a week and a half and I've been on 3 different anti-biotics to try and clear this up but they are not working. I also have severe asthma along with it. I also have COPD and it's just hard for me to breathe and my chest hurts really bad all the time day and night. My question is this, what should I do about it. I'm reallt tired of getting these antibiotics that don't work but I'm really afraid that I'm going to end up end the hospital. Please help. Any advice would be very helpful.

I have chronic bronchitis, for years, and I know how you feel. I used to take tons of antibiotic with no help. Until.... a doctor has put me on a shot 50/50 of linkasin & depamethrol. It has saved my life. I also have a inhaler that helps tremendous. I drink hot tea or coffee when the coughing is so bad that I thought I would die, and it eases the coughing. But the shot is the trick, ask your doctor about it.If he won't do it, find a doctor that will., because it will save your life. If you smoke, try to cut back or quit, ok? I have cut back so much and feel so much better. So good luck!

If you have asthma and copd you should have a peak flow meter in the house. what are your peak flows like? when you go to the doctor what does the pulse oximeter say, that's the little red light they slip on your finger. if its around 90 then you should be okay. it sounds like you need a dose of IV steroids followed up by oral steroids if that doesn't seem to do the trick then maybe its time for some night time home oxygen or home oxygen when you are traveling around so you can catch your breath. All of this can be done in your home with out hospitalization. However you doctor may want you to see a lung specialist and he will get you a home respiratory therapist. I managed a company that cared for people with similar conditions, we came to your house and made you comfortable.

Drink lots of water and try taking a trip driving up into some mountains where there's clear air, if you're able to travel with someone, and IF it's not too cold.

These things can linger for a long time sometimes, so it's not uncommon.

You might want to some searches for vitamin and nutritional substances that could help (probably in large amounts), and possibly garlic.
