Depends on the occulsion, you would'nt want to live with more than 50% bilaterally. I imagine that you would be placed on Coumadin or Plavix and be treated that way.

Yes, but not for long.

I have an occlusion in my left vina cava. It is 70%! They tried to put in a stint but it broke loose and lodged in my leg. I had to have emergency surgury to remove the stint!

I suggest you look on pubmed.com for help. This is life threatening. Make sure your doc has you on blood thinners right now too. Don't become a veggie like me.

If you have excellent collateral circulation, you can go for a bit, but probably not very long.
