no heavy lifting for 5-7 days. watch for bleeding at site. make sure you are on plavix or something similar until your doc says its okay to discontinue ( i think its about a yrs time but i could be wrong). any recurrence of chest pain or the symptoms that necessitated the stent placement, call your cardio immediately. change your diet to decrease cholesterol and fat. don't smoke. control your sugars if you are diabetic.

6 weeks post stent placement there are no restrictions although most physicians will ask you to take aspirin daily for life. In my practice I advise aspirin for 6 months or 1 year at most as long before this the interior of the stent has been covered with endo thelial cells at which point I feel (and this is certainly a minority opinion) that the risk clearly outweighs potential benefit. To personalize such advice I would need additional information for if your risk is increased relative to another the benefit of aspirin may be greater than another.
