Colds usually last 7 to 10 days. However, if your immune system is down, and you are not giving your body proper rest and good nutrition during this period, it can last indefinitely. So keep that in mind. Your body needs a lot of rest. And soups are good and easy to make too. Use a lot of fresh garlic (I use 8 to 10 whole cloves) as a base, add potato's (sweet or regular), carrots, celery, and any other vegetables that you like along with either chicken broth, or vegetable broth, or for a very simple broth use the ones from the top ramen packages, and add the noodles too if you want. Hope you feel better soon!

Most cold viruses run their course in 10 to 14 days tops. Longer than that and it's probably ot a cold. I know many people who think they have a cold for weeks on end and it's more likely airborn allergies.

Best Wishes,

Sue

most are 24-72 hours but your bodies ability to fight it depends on a lot of that. In this attempt to sterilize the environment we live in we have made bacteria and viruses stronger. Best advise is crawl in bed with a lot of blankets and Tylenol and sweat it out. Even after the fever breaks get back in bed the next day and repeat the process are you could relapse.
