My boyfriend is a type one diabetic and he never checks his blood sugar because he says it is too painful. I want him to take care of himself. Are there other testing sites that you can get the same amount of blood? Can anyone give me info on new testing moniters available. Please help me.

There are new meters you can use to test on your arm. There is a link to one in my sources.

I do not have the education to inform you about the risks and long-term issues with diabetes, but your boyfriend should definitely be testing regularly. Diabetics who do not take care of themselves significantly reduce their potential lifespans. Check out http://www.diabetes.org for the official American Diabetes Association website.

If you want this man to live a long and healthy life you may have to become a bigger pain in his butt than the pinprick is in his finger or arm!

There are lots of sites far less painful that your finger to prick. For some reason the finger prick always hurts more than the "big needle" when I give blood. Most new monitors allow sites from your arm, leg, thigh, and require very little blood so the prick isn't so bad. Its a good idea to do for a week every once in a while to see where you are, but if those number are good, and no major changes in the diet, he should be fine. Look up diabetes type one on webmd.

I use the Freestyle meter and mostly poke my forearm & palms of my hands during the day and my leg at night. Doesn't take much blood. The forearm is less painful and isn't off too far from the readings on my fingers. I also use the palms of my hands which are as good as the fingers & less painful. The leg is off more, but I use it to get a general idea before I go to bed. He needs to check some where to control his blood sugars. I also use the new Meditronic Insulin pump that monitors my glucose 24 hrs a day. I still have to check my blood glucose but not as often and I know when I am going low or high just by looking at my pump. Good luck

He needs to check and keep a record of his blood sugar levels. Using the finger is the best, even though they advertise using your arm on tv, the arm doesn't bleed as readily as the hand. Some people don't change their lancets, but that will make it more painful. As a diabetic he needs to take care so he lives a long relative trouble free life. Diabetic neuropathy can affect all organs. Good Luck.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

My dad is diabetic and its very important to check your blood sugar. It helps keep it under control. You can go into a diabetic shock or even into unconsiousness. Yes he must prick his finger for the blood to be tested. Ask the Pharmacisit for info and make sure he goes with you. He must see how much you care for him to want to help. I'm 100% behind you.

There are some machines that let you test on the arm which is supposedly less painful. But, they are less accurate during a hypoglycemic episode i've heard. Tell him he is taking a chance of going blind, erection problems, going blind, losing his legs, having bad nerve pain, stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, and many many other ailments if he doesn't control his blood sugar. The Erection problems usually gets most males to be better about checking.
