The instructions say to drink "plenty of water" and warn of liver damage if you are dehydrated. But how much is enough? Will it hurt me to take a hot yoga class or use the steam baths? I can't count on just drinking when I'm thirsty, because I'm thirsty all the time. And I have to pee all the time as a result, so I don't want to just go on a water jar. Obviously I'll call the pharmacist tomorrow, but wondered if anyone else has been through this.

To clarify - I don't mean with the pill. The information indicates that I need to hydrate all day long.

Actually being thirsty and having to pee all the time are two indications that you are not drinking enough water and are defintly eatting or drinking to much sugar. Basically you are causing yourself to become diabetic. And yes I do know about this. At the beginning of this year I realized that I was so thirsty that I couldn't get enough water..then also though I'm drinking so much water that I am peeing constantly. When actually I was drinking far to many sugar drinks and nearly lost my eyesight a month later due to the amount of sugar in my system. If you hate water and don't want to give up your favorite food, candy and drinks realize that you will definatly do more harm than good.
I was 225lbs when I found out I'm hypoglycemic...aka type 2 diabetic..but I am lost 45lbs...however I am nearly type 1 which is insulin shot depend...all because I didn't want to give up my sweet tea and Dr. Pepper for a few months past my losing my eye sight! My advice is to stay away from tap water (to much flouride which causes weight gain)...drink bottled and just drink it all the time. in a week you should see some result of change of the increased urination and thirst problem desolve. good luck...and stay aware from carbs and sugars..they are diabetes makers!!! See an indocrinologist ASAP

someone had told me that steam baths - and hot baths themselves, were something I needed to stay away from, being type 2 diabetic, and having high blood pressure.
They use t say drink 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water daily. Drink water in place of diet sodas, and remember that if you drink coffee or non herbal tea, for every one cup of those, you will need to drink 2 glasses of water, as coffee tends to draw out your body moisture.
I'm not wording this correctly, and I do apologize..
I've heard horror stories about metformin - which is what I've been on now for a few years.
Hot yoga classes? Exercise does help, but ask your doctor about that. If he is as knowledgeable as mine , ask the diabetic nurses at your local hospital. You have had a class with them already I hope.. and ask if the hospital also has a support group for diabetics.
Good luck luv

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

I have been taking 1000 mg of metformin for 5 years. It has kept my diabetes under control but I am eating some foods I shouldn't be and I need to start getting it better under control.

You can drink all the water you feel you need. There's no need to measure it. But stay away from steam baths, saunas, and hot tubs. Excessive moist heat will raise your blood pressure. Most of these things have signs warning diabetics not to use them.
