Not unless the host announced, "Oh look! Our dessert just arrived!" as soon as they walk in the door.

Donner party hard at work in the kitchen, Guests come in, have some small talk and a few drinks, "Dinner Time" Mother Donner calls!
MMMMMMM! Sure smells good says the guests in unison! Mother Donnor asks Father Donnor! "Honey will you please carve? Why certainly says father Donner! "What would you like? A wing, a breast, A"foot??? "Please try the fingers! there soooo warm and crunchy!mmmmmm and hence the term "finger food" was born!

yes..it's not like they wanted to be cannibalistic, it was a matter of life or death and they chose life...i mean if you were in that situation, what would you do? many of us would say death, but none of us will probably be experiencing that so we'll never know. If they were in their own home, of course they wouldn't eat the people!
