Normal blood pressure is 120/70. If it's at 158/84, it's considered on the high side. Yours is way out of the normal range. Please see a doctor ASAP.

Well the first two answers are rubbish Celery does not lower blood pressure whether you eat 4 stalks or 40 Being older does not mean that you accept as inevitable a serious condition to befall you Nowadays at least in the West the control of blood pressure is easy often a single tablet daily will be enough What you are doing so far is fine especially exercise which is very important,.Your heart is a muscle and like all muscles is stronger with exercise The methods you are employing now will bring it down and given your initial reading is not very high to start with coupled with the fact that you have no risk factors other than your age and I am assuming you are White. I personally would not issue medication unless the BP rises further. So I would want to monitor your BP regularly regularly say monthly for 3 months then 6 monthily for as year then yearly until you die peacefully in a sleep of old age in about 20 years

A blood pressure at a reading of 278/163 is extremely high. A normal blood pressure is anywheres between 120/80 - 138/70.
I am in the nursing field. I am very curious on how you took this blood pressure. If you used a cuff to small for you it could give a high false reading, If you used a cuff to large for you it could give you a low false reading, and if you used a mechcanical blood pressure machine, if can give false readings, they are not as accurite as using a proper fitting cuff.

120 over 80 is normal. You should see your doctor to get some medication so that way you don't have a stroke. Get it tested again because the cuff maybe wrong. If you have you hand in a fist it might give you the wrong reading as well. If the meter is old you might get a false reading. Get on a diet and stay away from salty and greasy foods. Diet and excercise. It will work. See a doc. first though.

A LITTLE HIGH? You are in the stroke zone! The diastolic and systolic readings are both in a dangerous territory anything above120/100 is considered to be abnormal. Take a low dose aspirin, about 80 mgs, (that's if you're not allergic) then GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!! ASAP

If that is accurate as in 278/163 then YES.
VERY HIGH.
Retake it to make sure that it was an accurate reading.
If so, GO SEE A MD...ASAP.

273/168 is extremely high especially the diastolic(168). If this is not causing any ill feeling in you then I would first suspect a false reading. If you get the same result get help asap.

That is very very high, I don't even think you can get that high. You should check it with a doctor because if it is right, it is very high but maybe the machine just got it wrong.
