u should talk to a doc rather than get advice on here...especially if you are over 13 and get sick from the adult dosage. That shouldnt' bother you by that age.

Generally vegans don't develop a B-12 deficiency for about 5 years. Vegetarians who eat eggs, cheese etc it will take a bit longer. So don't stress too much right now.

It's probably best to see your doctor, get a blood test to see how your B-12 is going now, & ask about suplements. You can get injections, but supplements BEFORE you have a problem are probably a good idea.

Taking the childrens B-12 supplements for now is probably a good idea. They will give you less than the adult supplements, but as i said, it takes a while for the deficiency to build up, so by the time that happens you might be able to handle the adult ones.

Also, research about & see where you can get your vitamin B-12 from plant sources. it's not as hard to do as many people make out.

I've never heard of B12 specifically for teens. The closest would probably be a Flinstones multivitamin that contains B12. And B12 vitamins tend to vary in doses. Since there's no standard on how much should be given, they can come anywhere from 100% percent daily value to 500% daily value and more.

Do you take the vitamins with a meal? Taking vitamins on an empty stomach can result in nausea or abdominal discomfort for sensitive people.

i'm a vegetarian and have also tried to take adult b-12 vitamins but i found them nasty as you know what. now what i do is i take a few extra childrens vitamins with b-12 in them that taste a little nicer. the recommended dose is 1 for children under 4 and 2 for children over 4, so i usually took 4 or 5 since i'm 16 years old. i recommend going a trader joes if you have one near you and buying the children's chewable vitamins in a bottle shaped like a bear. yes it seems a little weird at first, but hey what does it matter as long as you are getting your vitamins. and congrats for being a vegetarian! good choice =)

i don't think there's a company that makes b-12 vitamins for teens.
so your best bet is to try and find the best adult vitamin that suits you, and is not too strong to cause a stomach problem. im sure if you try 2 or 3 differnet company's, your problems will be solved. and try not to convince yourself about having the problem, so that you won't be causing your own problems.

either take a chewable children's vitamin, it has b 12 in it, or take the adult one with food. how old are you? usually teens can take adult vitamins just fine. maybe if you are on the younger side, or very skinny, you might need a children's vitamin

I take "VegLife" 100% Vegan "SpectroVeg High Energy" multi vitamins. They have lots of B12 and all sorts of other good stuff in them. You can probably find them at any health-food store, or possibly online.
