Pilaff is an Middle Eastern and Central Asian dish in which a grain, such as rice or cracked wheat, is generally first browned in oil, and then cooked in a seasoned broth. Depending on the local cuisine it may also contain a variety of meat and vegetables.

RICE PILAFF

1/2 onion, chopped finely
2 garlic cloves finely chopped
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon garma masala
1/4 tsp. red chili powder
Cardamom (2-3)
1 bay leaf
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
Oil (enough to brown onions, approximately 3 tablespoons)
2 cups of rice
4 cups of water
1/2 bag of frozen peas
1 potato(small), chopped into cubes
Salt to taste
Saute (on medium to high heat) the onions, garlic, and cumin seeds until the onions begin to turn brown. Add the potatoes and spices and cook on medium heat until the potatoes are almost completely cooked. Add the peas, rice, and water and boil the rice until the water is just barely sitting on top. Turn the heat down to low and let sit with a cover until all the water is gone (usually 5-10 minutes.

Carrots are optional.

i've had rice pilaf...its good, its like brown rice with seasoning, maybe a little spicy. its good
