First do your research and make sure you're clued up on what you need to eat in a vegetarian diet to get enough nutrients. Research it first, and then gradually start cutting out meat and fish. You might decide you want to take it further and cut out milk and/or eggs eventually, but start with just meat and fish. Make sure you eat a lot of grains, beans, lentils, chickpeas, fruit and veg, nuts and seeds. Get some veggie receipe books and have some ideas for recipies in mind. You can still make the old favourites - curry, chilli, spaghetti bolognaise just by substituting the meat for soya mince or quinoa mince. Good luck and congratulations on your new healthy lifestyle!

okay you just stop eating meat, for the first month i ate just cereal, salad, apples, bread, pasta, pizza and stuff like that than the second and third month i started eating veggy burgers and veggy chicken and since i haven't tasted the meat in a while they taste good but if you start eating veggy meat within like the first month you probably won't like it because you like the original meat. Then after that month move on to tofu. Being vegiterian does't mean just eating vegtitables you can eat other stuff as long as it doesn't have animal fat in it. crackers, rice, patatoes. Have fun being vegiterian, it feels awesome not killing animals to eat, it gives me a sence of happiness knowing that i don't eat meat.!! :)

replace meat products with rice and beans. Rice and beans = a complete protein. also Morning Star Farms makes "Fake" meat substitutes. This brand can be found in most super centers like Wal-Mart. Even some regular grocery stores carry this brand. Just be sure that you get plenty of nuts or beans for protein. and eat things with high iron content too.
Best of luck to you.

go online and find some good vegetarian recipes...i'm not a vegetarian but i looove a lot of vegetarion food. the gardenburger company makes fantastic riblets, can buy them in most frozen food sections....theres not a lot of vegetarian food out there thats meant as a meat replacement that ACTUALLY tastes like meat, but as long as you know how to cook it correctly it's fantastic. there's one company...i forget the name, but their frozen food comes in green boxes and they make "chik nuggets" which do actually taste like real chicken. old roommate couldnt eat them because it reminded her too much of meat....she was a diehard vegitarian.....but anyhow...last suggestion is to learn more about nutrients, make sure you still get enough protien, etc....dont just eat out of the frozen food section...i know it looks like im suggesting that above, but im not :)

Eat no more meat. Eat beans, rice, soy and a whole lot of healthy foods (like fruits and veggies), but no more red meat, chicken or fish.
