I had a housewarming when I moved into an apartment. No gifts were given, nor did I expect them. It was just a good excuse to get a bunch of friends together for drinks and food and talk.
So yeah, send out the invitations just saying come see our new digs!

I think that it is fine to have a house warming party for a place that you are renting. My brother and his Ex-girlfriend had one for an apartment that they moved in to at one point. Nothing wrong with that. It was the first move they had together.

In "The Wizard of oz.," the depraved Witch of the East screeched, "this stuff must be performed deh-lih-cate-leee!" shifting right into a condominium is a sturdy adequate excuse for a celebration. call it "homestead-warming" or in spite of the indisputable fact that you want. in spite of the indisputable fact that, in case you drop tricks that you'll like some dishes or different stuff, i'd inform you that i'm busy. If i'm your dad and that i comprehend you do not have any backyard mower, then this is as a lot as me how beneficiant i'd be. If my cost of admission is difficulty-free- the overall "bottle of wine for dinner" or "flowers for the hostess" is so as, it really is comfortable with me. people favor to be beneficiant with their acquaintances, yet no one likes to be seen as a strolling present card. So- small presents (wine, flowers, food) are consumer-pleasant at a celebration. wedding ceremony-reception presents are yet another matter. So have your party, yet don't be dissatisfied if people take position with a casserole as a replace of a chain of dishes. this is about sharing something sturdy with you (the housewarming) not a technique to augment your way of existence.

I thought a housewarming party was to you know, warm the house. I don't think it matters why you are moving into a new place, it's about celebrating your new home.
a bit of trivia..........
Traditional housewarming gifts are plants, wine, and bread
so that the house may always know life, and never know hunger or thirst

Anytime you move in somewhere, it is fine to have a housewarming party. (unless you move alot. Then it would be kinda of rude, like you are looking for gifts from your friends)

It is ok, but don't expect any expensive gift. Just throw a party to tell you friends where are you going to live now.

I think it's fine in this day and age. In the past, I think it was more for homes, but that was before condos and the like.
