What's the likelihood of insulin absorption stopping after giving an injection in the same area that a person has used for a while?

They will go away if you leave them alone it will take a while. I would say try using an insulin pump and then use your buttocks for the sites however if you use a pump and use the same spots over and over youll still get the same lumps When I used needles I did 3 injections a day all on the back of my arms and they became so calloused(sp?) and hard that a hornet couldnt sting me at that point as someone said above I wasnt getting all of the insulin injected so you need to be careful cause it will eventually back up and spit it out or not take affect.

You should rotate sites for that reason.I know it can be hard but try the tummy, arms,behind and even legs.
