Don't depend on random sugar level...take one fasting in the morning before breakfast and one PP after 2 hours breakfast.

I am somewhat puzzled with your question but will do the best I can.
All blood tests or finger sticks should be done while fasting or in other words, when you have been atleast 8hrs without food or drink.
A really good FBS (fasting blood sugar) should be between in the range of 140 or less.
A random test of 294 shows that your body is not assimilating the sugar as it should hence the diabetes diagnosis.
They are people who can go into a diabetic coma with a 294 sugar.
Since you have more recently been diagnosed with diabetes, you
probably DO feel normal with taking normal sugar because it's the only way you have always felt in the past.
Get on your diabetic regeiment and stick to it and you will begin to see a difference.
Plenty of diabetics don't watch their sugar or diet intake and in the end suffer severe side effects.
Poor Circulation resulting in loss of limbs.
Problems with eye sight that could result in losing your eye sight.
Problems with your kidneys resulting in having to be on dialyasis and of those people on dialyasis, few ever have the chance again to get their sugars under control as this is usually the final stage of their disease.
Take the advice of your Dr and don't play with it as Diabetes is a serious disease that takes serious control.
Don't settle for medical advice from your family Dr,go see an Endocrinologist who specializes in the care of the Diabetic.
Now back to your question, are you gloating because you think you have gotten away with something or because you think you have been able to dispell what your doctor has diagosed?
It is this very attitude that sends most diabetics down the road to the dialaysis.

I'm sorry to hear about that but what the heck happened? How did he got to this level of blood sugar?? Anyway, the normal blood sugar level is, as said before, 60 to 90 and even 100. All the best for him.

Hi there !
On one side you say that "you are diabetic since one year" and alongwith that you also say that "feel perfectly fine with normal sugar consumption" ..dont understand exactly what you are trying to convey !
In metabolism, sugar level reaches a peak at around 2 hours after ingestion of food and then slowly coms down !
If you are a diabetic, you should have done the FBS and PPBS rather than a RBS ! Get the opinion from your Diabetologist !
After all he knows the best ..right ?
best wishes !

U might feel ok, but u r doing damage to ur organs by not keeping ur sugar under control. Why would u switch from a sugar free sweetner back to sugar knowing that u r diabetic? Ur body gets used to ur sugar being that high, so u r lees likely to feel symptomatic. Go back to ur diabetic diet brfore u ruin ur eyes, kidneys, heart...everything is affected by ur sugar levels.

What is your Hemoglobin A1c? You need to be very careful that your average sugar is normal.
