the best thing for him would be dry weather. many people that suffer from asthma move to Arizona due to the nice dry weather.

The best thing for him is to see a Dr only he/she can confirm if it is asthma and medicate him. If he has asthma it is very important you give him his medications as the Dr prescribes. Try and figure out with your Dr what triggers his attacks, if you have pets get them out of the house, keep the dust down in the house, no smoking. I know it's a lot to take in at first it does get easier. I have been an asthmatic since i was a year old, learn to control the asthma not the asthma control you both.......And get a flu shot!!!

If it is the first episode it may not be Asthma - It is more likely Bronchiolitis. In any case consult a Pediatrician. Both these cannot be taken care of by tips on the Internet. They are not serious but not silly either and require specialist help.

in most cases asthma isn't diagnosed until after the age of 2.. it's more likely that your child has an upper airway infection ie. epiglotitis or croup. be careful of doctors who are quick to label your child an asthmatic... I know of more than one who will label children as such for insurance purposes... once your mark an asthmatic, that's it!! your stuck with it even if you don't necessarily have it. I had a doctor try to tell me that my daughter had asthma, when in reality she had croup.... I tryed to tell him this and he didn't listen to me... sure enough she had croup. just be careful...
