Yes you can, but remember that it is your blood sugar that ultimately matters most, and keeping to a regular diet will help you keep your sugars stable. Check your fingersticks if you have had a change in eating habits and check them regularly so you and your doctor can discuss your diet and medication change if necessary. There is nothing wrong with moderation of any carbohydrate source, as a glass of milk per day is not the same as a half-gallon per day.

My daughter is a kind 1 diabetic and generally drinks milk within the mornings. Her sugar is in most cases on the low-common finish very first thing in the morning (70-100) and consuming a small (not more than 8 oz) glass helps hold her blood sugar phases extra steady on the grounds that the protein combined with the carbs helps it absorb more slowly. It has also been established in medical stories that individuals who drink an 8oz glass of skim milk to start the day are slimmer. It's a far better choice than skipping breakfast on account that doing that causes your body to maintain onto the energy as if you are starving. At least drinking milk offers your body a extra tender "get up" with a healthful approach to begin the day. As with any issues diabetes related it is quality to convey up any considerations with the physician who treats your diabetes. The web is a high-quality supply of know-how, however it is usually a big source of misinformation. Just right luck!

If you've been diagnosed with Type 1 (juvenile-onset) diabetes, you are most likely being asked to count your carbs, and take insulin injections based on the total carbs consumed minus grams of fiber. Milk is a perfectly acceptable drink, as long as you take the carbohydrate content into account when calculating how much insulin to take.

Absolutely - milk is good for you. What you are thinking of is that milk contains lactose which is a 'sugar'. The word sugar is vague. Diabetics must avoid glucose but not all sugars are glucose. Glucose is typically found in 'sweets' such as chocolate. Pasta is a complex carbohydrate which is a sugar that is good for you.
