I am a diabetic, and I love bread. This is the one thing that I think diabetics should stay away from because it really spikes your blood sugar. Especially the white bread.

Eat bread in moderation, and make sure you check blood sugar levels and you will be ok.

Good luck.

Not white bread.....that's a no...no...
Diabetics should eat a lot of fiber, and not eat overly processed food. Anything bleached like white bread or white rice is overly processed and dangerous to diabetics.

Yes. But, you shouldn't eat as much as a non-diabetic would. And if you have celiac (I think that's how you spell it) then you can't because bread has wheat, gluten, barley, and all of these other things. There are special stores that carry bread free of wheat, gluten and barley though. My friend is diabetic and so are her sisters. She has Celiac though. So, she has to triple watch what she eats.

See my answer regarding milk and lactose. Bread contains a sugar but not glucose so it is fine for diabetics although it is true that a diabetic using insulin should factor carbohydrates about to be consumed into each insulin dose.

Are you kidding me??? Diabetics can eat, drink , and do anything they want as long as their blood sugar is under control. you can't let diabetes hold you back from enjoying the things you like i.e. cake, pie, candy, soda etc. personally I think that the bread question is a ridiculous one

If you want to have bread, look for whole grain breads and stay away from white bread. Whole grains are great for diabetics, but processed foods can spike your blood sugars and add fat, extra sodium, etc.
