critical thinking questions from my science textbook:

... if a male that has already gone through puberty were to where an older cousin's underwear(who is not infected with HIV/AIDS)

.... if a male that has already gone through puberty were to where a friend's underwear(that has already gone through puberty and is not infected with HIV/AIDS).

what i think is that since there is no HIV/AIDS in the first place, nothing is transmitted?

your help is appreciated, thank you

aids/hiv is transmitted through the exchange of bodily fluids through the bloodstream.

First reaching puberty dose not mean anything when it comes to getting a STD. A new born child can get it....And you are correct If there is no HIV/AIDS in the first place, nothing is transmitted. HIV/AIDS can ONLY be transmitted with contact with body fluids from an infected person to you such as blood and semen. Quite simpley you can not catch it unless it enters youre body through sex or lets say you have a cut on your hand and you touch there blood.

If no one has the virus then how would you get it in ther first place? It doesn't have anything to do with puberty, though wearing someone elses drawers isn't the most sanitary thing to do. No Hiv will be transmitted through it.

Nope and nope. Two reasons: 1. the virus has to be present. and 2. Because the HIV virus can't survive outside the body, it's nearly impossible to be transmitted that way. It's spread by host to host contact - like if person A has an open sore on their hands, and helps person B (who has HiV) when they cut themselves, without using gloves. You can't get it from a doorknob or toilet seat, nor can you get it from clothes.

might and ought to are very diverse meanings. might you? in all probability not. ought to you? probably, however the prospect is seen extremely low. there is many different STD's you ought to get this way, yet whilst it is composed of HIV it would be extremely extremely uncommon. a individual with bleeding gums (gum ailment) or different form of subject interior the mouth ought to flow blood to you that ought to infect you. it would be not likely and doubtless impossible to strengthen into contaminated from the saliva on my own. There are not many learn which could ascertain any of this so that is all theoretical. there have been people who contaminated others by making use of kissing with bleeding gums, so i'm beneficial that is available if the comparable individual with an identical subject gave oral intercourse to a receptive male.

Puberty has absolutely NOTHING to do with anything whatsoever...exchanging bodily fluidsknown as blood or blood components; not spit, mucus, tears, sweat, vomit or urine. BUT thru the use of dirty needles or thru sexual contact or blood transfusions(hopefully this one has been handled). You could wear his underwear as a hat and nothing would be transferred except possibly some good humour.

no no and you are right.
Aids/HIV cannot live outside the body.
Sex, needles, blood
are some of the most popular ways to get it

You are right. You get HIV/AIDS from direct contact with someone who has it, you don't get infected by wearing the underpants of someone else.

no, you can not get aids from wearing someones underwear if they dont have aids. aids/Hiv doesnt just develope. the only thing that you would really get from wearing someones underpants (if they werent washed first) would be crabs. or possably a yeast infection. why would you want to wear their underpants anyways?
