Unfortunately the weight will only come off with diet and exercise. and it will be harder for you because you thryroid is not working properly. Even with medication the thyroid mechanisms are not all duplicated. I've been there, 28 years ago, and 28 years on thyroid replacement. weight has always been an issue. Also look forward to dry skin and dry hair. Start using moisturizers now and do not ever stop. Use good hair products and do not over process your hair it will not rebound easily. Good luck

Inflammation and infection of the thyroid has a mind of its own and there is absolutely no rule nor even a guideline when it comes to thyroid function although 'eventually' thyroid function stabilizes it is not possible to predict whether you will become high, normal, or low in function. I am not certain what medication you are taking but there is no medication which influences Hashimoto's itself.
