i dont know if you can say one is worse than the others. both of them are treatable but not curable. herpes is painful when you have an outbreak, but meds such as Valtrex can help supress the outbreaks. as far as anal warts go, they cause cell abnormalities and should be treated. also, if they keep growing, they could cause blockage in the anus. they may not be painful but could cause damage down the road so i would recommend getting them treated. if you do not have any yet but do have unprotected anal sex, you can have an anal pap smear done to detect cell abnormalities. talk to your health professional.

I think they both would be equally painful, both are worse! I would google the warts in anus being left untreated.
