18? So dress total late 1980s, from when you guys were born. Hair, clothes, the pretentious party food... If you wanna make an entrance, see if you can rent a De Lorean from someplace, lol.

Old school (rat-pack days) Vegas would be cool, and play some poker or something along with everything else. Remember, Vegas used to be elegant and not family friendly, once.

The James Bond theme someone said would be really cool. Guys in hot tuxes or dinner jackets... And who doesn't wanna be a Bond girl at some point. If you could pull that off, it would be great.

Casablanca could also be cool. Or just something from those old elegant b&w movies period.

You're turning 18 and planning a dress theme party? Some ideas...How bout dressing in the style of what each of you think your profession / lifestyle will be in 10 years. Other thoughts...118 yrs. in the future style, decades of years gone by (1960's, 1920's, Roman (toga) era....), movie / music / news-making celebrities, heroines of famous fairy tales or comics (encourage an empowering female theme), or maybe just dress as well known (current or past era) empowering female figure. You're turning 18...be of gentle heart, inner strength, and stand in your power in a compassionate keen minded way. Enjoy.

Well, it would make your fancy dress a little less fancy, but my friends recently held a "preachers & prossies" party...
All the girls had to dress up as prostitutes (or play-boy bunny types) and the guys had to dress up as priests, or whatever religious type men...
I this type of party is also called "vicars & vixens" or something...
